If you like playing games and solving puzzles, ‘Lupin dans la Ville ’ is for you! This popular escape game allows you to have fun with your family and friends while using your logic and observation skills. 

This is a game based on the famous burglar Arsène Lupin whose universe has been seducing all age groups for many years. 

What is an escape game? 

An escape game is a game of puzzles and escape that is played in a group. Often themed, it appeals to players of all ages. 

The goal of an escape game is to solve a series of puzzles in a limited time to escape from a room or to move to the next level. Typically played indoors, these days an increasing number of escape games are played outdoors.

Police investigations are the great classics of escape games, but you can also find other themes: zombies, treasure hunts, TV series, prison & school.

The concept of Lupin dans la Ville

‘Lupin dans la Ville’ is a grand escape game that takes place in most of the major cities in France on a fixed date. The aim is to solve riddles scattered around the city centre with the help of your team, a booklet and your smartphone.

Most escape games have a story. Lupin dans la Ville is the story of Arsène Lupin, a famous thief who tries to steal the ruby from the great illusionist Mage Cagliostro. It is played in teams of 3 to 5 players. Before starting the game, it is necessary to choose your side: Arsène Lupin or Mage Cagliostro. 

This escape game requires deduction, logic and observation skills. It is ideal for discovering a city with family or friends. It is possible to play Lupin dans la Ville twice. Depending on the choice of character, the story and the puzzles are different.  

The game lasts for 3 hours and the route is 4 to 6 kilometres long. This escape game is primarily dedicated to adults and young adults (from 12 years old). However, children can accompany them. A booklet for toddlers aged 5 to 10 is available for sale (2 euros) so that they can conduct their own investigation alongside that of the adults. 

Where to play Lupin dans la Ville?

Lupin dans la Ville is an event that takes place on a fixed date. It is possible to join the game directly at the venue. However, I advise you to make a reservation to guarantee your participation. The next sessions take place in September and October this year.

More than 44 cities in France host the escape game Lupin dans la Ville. These cities include Lille, Le Mans, Laval, Cannes, Montpellier, Brest, Chartres, Rouen, Angers, Dijon, Colmar, Lyon & Limoges.

Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg also host this outdoor game with the next session taking place in October 2022 in Lausanne.  

Who is Lupin?

Arsène Lupin is a French fictional character invented by Maurice Leblanc. Lupin is known as a gentleman cambrioleur who always successfully steals the most beautiful jewels and objects. Sometimes he also solves criminal investigations. To achieve his goal, he dons masterful disguises and pretends to be other people. 

Following the success of Maurice Leblanc’s stories, the famous character Arsène Lupin has been adapted into films, series and cartoons. The latest series is the soberly titled ‘Lupin’ with Omar Sy as the main character. 

Lupin dans la Ville is a must try escape game if you like the world of Arsène Lupin, puzzles and having a good time with family and friends!
